Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a discipline that combines software and systems engineering for building and running large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that internal and external services meet or exceed reliability and performance expectations while adhering to Equifax engineering principles.

What you’ll do

  • Own end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence; automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions.
  • Manage on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model.
  • Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of Equifax's services.
  • Identify, recruit, develop and retain top-notch professional talent.
  • Is accountable for the performance and results of the team
  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational and/or organization problems
  • Makes decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from senior manager
  • Develops plans and leads resources to meet operational objectives within area of responsibility; May contribute to the development of strategy in partnership with senior managers

What experience you need

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent job experience required
  • 7+ years of experience developing and/or administering software in public  cloud
  • Experience in monitoring infrastructure and application uptime and availability to ensure functional and performance objectives.
  • Experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, Java, Go, Perl, JavaScript and/or node.js
  • Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge with systems, storage, networking, security and databases
  • System administration skills, including automation and orchestration of Linux/Windows using Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt Stack and/or containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices
